As you know, we recently embarked on a concerted effort to provide more funds to help the orphans, needy widows and lepers in India. Billy Kumar (formally T.G Sugheer), a Christian in Kakinada, India, currently cares for 217 orphans, and incorporates the use of widows to care for the children which also provides support for the widows who may be in need there. Billy does this effort as an individual and does not accept funds from congregations to support the effort. Billy and the individual Christians who take care of these children, not only provide their basic necessities; they also provide the children with spiritual nourishment each day, teaching them the Scriptures. Over the past 20 years of operating the orphanage, many of the young people have decided to obey the gospel as they learn the truth. Many of them have also decided to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the villages and communities in the region.

One of the early efforts related to supporting Billy's efforts there was to provide a water well for the congregation of Christians who are lepers. Attached are some pictures that Billy sent to Ryan Matney of the completed water well at the Leper congregation.

Also, attached is a newsletter from December 2024 that Billy sent out which gives an update on these efforts. We still start sharing these newsletters on a quarterly basis so you can see how your funds are helping in this effort.
