Lifestream Charities Supporters:
Good evening! We have enjoyed several opportunities to make positive impacts on the lives of people living in Zimbabwe, Botswana, the Philippines, and even those fleeing the war in Ukraine through the use of Lifestream Charities as a vehicle to supply much needed aid. Each of those were project based and targeted issues with a completion date.
When all the water wells were completed in Zimbabwe for the communities we were aiming to provide water for irrigation of their crops, mission accomplished.
When the same was true in Botswana, the funds were raised and those wells are still pending for completion; however, they will be completed.
Several places in the Philippines were looking to build church buildings and several donors participated in providing funds to construct those buildings.
We are now embarking on a mission that will require an ongoing commitment, because the need is so widespread. Have you ever wanted to help those who are orphans and needy widows? Have you ever thought about how you could put your funds to work to participate in what James 1:27 refers to as "pure religion". This is one of those opportunities.
[James 1:27 ESV] 27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
Billy Kumar (formally T.G Sugheer), a Christian in Kakinada, India, currently cares for 217 orphans, and incorporates the use of widows to care for the children which also provides support for the widows who may be in need there. Billy does this effort as an individual and does not accept funds from congregations to support the effort. Billy and the individual Christians who take care of these children, not only provide their basic necessities; they also provide the children with spiritual nourishment each day, teaching them the Scriptures. Over the past 20 years of operating the orphanage, many of the young people have decided to obey the gospel as they learn the truth. Many of them have also decided to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the villages and communities in the region.
Billy has room for 350 children; however, he does not have the funds necessary to provide for them. Children are reported to stand at his gate begging to be allowed to come in, and he simply cannot support them. It costs about $95 USD per month to provide the following for one child including: food, books, a Bible, a sleeping mat, Two pairs of clothes, and wages for the adult Christians who help care for and teach the children. I have personally met Billy and several of my brothers in Christ have actually witnessed the work being done there and provided first-hand eyewitness accounts of the situation. It is a sight to behold and exactly as Billy reports it to be. One of those eyewitnesses is Ryan Matney who visited there earlier this year. If you would like to speak with him directly, he can be reached at 979-450-6997 or connermatney@hotmail.com.
If 133 people commit to supporting One (1) child per month, his orphanage would be full and fewer children would be subjected to cruel treatment, hunger, and worse by the public at large.
If you would like to support this effort, please consider going to our website, scanning the QR code and making your first Zelle enabled electronic contribution for $95 or more. All the funds collected reach the children in need.
Many thanks,
Steven
